Communications: Cell Phone Dialing Guide
Basic Calling Information
- Mobile phone numbers in Italy contain ten digits. The first digit is always "3", and is part of a three-digit prefix that indicates the cellular carrier of the destination mobile phone number.
- When calling a mobile phone from within Italy, simply dial the mobile phone prefix ("3xx") + remaining seven digits of mobile phone number. There is no preceding access code.
- When making an international call to a mobile phone in Italy, dial: Italy's country code [39] + mobile phone prefix ("3xx") + remaining seven digits of mobile phone number.
